Carter Sterling is a long-time presence at Sterling and has been the driving force behind the launch of Sterling Structural. As the third-generation leader of this family-run company and CEO of Sterling, he credits his father/mentor, John Sterling, and his time as an Eagle Scout for giving him the determination and tenacity needed to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.
Under Carter’s leadership, Sterling has evolved and grown. He spearheaded the expansion of Sterling’s operations when the company relocated to Phoenix, Illinois and led the development of a second TerraLam manufacturing facility in Lufkin, Texas. Carter’s laser focus on superior customer service and environmental stewardship has positioned Sterling incredibly well to address the ongoing evolution of sustainable construction products and practices.
Carter studied entrepreneurship and small business management at the University of Colorado – Boulder.
